Quercus Project

Any work using Quercus always needs a project file. Project file stores information of the thesaurus currently used, which type data is stored in relevé and which are the default directories for the different data types (source tables, working tables, thesaurus,...).

Project files have XML file format. In each project only one project can be described.

Project XML tags

Although not all of them must appear at the same time in a project file, here it goes a description for the currently enabled project tags.

<quercus_profile/> : encloses all quercus project information in it. An Quercus project file must have just one of this tags in it. The following tags are placed inside this.

<project_path/> : Describes the path for the Quercus working directory. All file paths in the project can be relative to this one. This path is proposed by Quercus whenever a more specific path is not provided.

<taxon_files/> : Lists the files which contain taxon thesaurus. More than one thesaurus can be used simultaneously, provided that there are no repeated codes in the different thesaurus.

<syntaxon_file/> : Specifies the file which contains the syntaxon thesaurus to be used.

<map_file/> : Indicates which map configuration file is currently used in the project to display georeferenced information, such as relevé distribution.

<primary_tables/> : Lists the Releve Table Files which are to be edited in the Table Source Editor.

<work_tables/> : Lists the Releve Table Files which are to be used in the Table Work Editor.

<primary_table_path/> : Specifies the default path for the Table Source Editor.

<work_table_path/> : Specifies the default path for the Table Work Editor.

<analysis_path/> : Specifies the default path for analysis.

<language/> : Specifies the current used language in the program.

<look_and_feel/> : Specifies the current program look and feel. Options available depend on the Java Runtime Environment.

<side_data/>: Describes the data associated to each relevé. Each project can have its own associated data, depending on how the surveys have been realised. When a new relevé is created, all current relevé side data definitions are placed on it. Also default taxon attributes can be set by means of a specific side data.
